Halloween decorations on the corners of Saint-Charles Avenue and Paul-Gérin-Lajoie Road
Pianist skeletons return to Vaudreuil-Dorion this year
As Halloween approaches, the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion has begun installing themed decorations throughout its territory. One of the most impressive decorations is located at the corner of Saint-Charles Avenue and Paul-Gérin-Lajoie Road.
The pianist skeletons are back this year. By e-mail, the City states that "this year's set-up is similar to last year's, for reasons of economy and, above all, to reuse material purchased in 2022."
In 2022, the total cost of set-up was around $1800. As the majority of the modules were acquired in the past, the Town only defrayed the cost of the plants and pumpkins for this décor in 2023, i.e. $300.
"You have to bear in mind that all set-ups in the city are carried out by Public Works crews. Interestingly, the piano was picked up at the curb (abandoned rubbish). We gave it a second life. This year, a major installation of our "JACK Skeleton" is underway at Harwood Nature Park. Special activities will take place there on the weekend of October 28 and 29. Please note that this is the last year we'll be able to observe the ''Jack'', so it will be time for us to let him rest in peace", we write.
The landscaping will remain in place at this key intersection until the day after Halloween.
